Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

Sociology provides for a multidimensional understanding of thousands of subjects, including crime, social & criminal justice, family, gender, race & ethnicity, class natural and man-made disasters, music, social movements and education.

UNCG Sociology serves undergraduate and graduate students, the College & University, the academy and our communities through teaching, scholarship, mentorship, outreach, and active citizenship. We put sociology to work to solve problems, educate students and the public, raise critical questions, and create freer intellectual spaces. Position Summary

The Department of Sociology at the University of North Carolina Greensboro invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer. The initial appointment is for Spring 2020 and includes the option of renewal.

We seek a sociologist who can teach a variety of courses in the department’s sociology major and criminology concentration. Preferred areas of expertise are race, gender, and class inequalities.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates should have at least a Master’s degree in Sociology.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D is a preferred qualification.
