Job Summary:

TheOutreach Specialist will provide support and coordination for thefunctions and duties of the Manager, Outreach and University Engagement. Thisposition will assist in the coordination, planning, and execution ofvaried existing projects and planning of future projects. Candidates forthis position must be able to work with many groups both within OSU-CHS aswell as various external entities. A key responsibility for this positionwill be the coordination of the current and future activities for high schoolprograms. Extensive travel throughout Oklahoma to area high schools andmedical camps will be required as well as working with OSU-Stillwater.

This positionwill oversee the continued development and implementation of an engagementplan with Oklahoma 4-H, Oklahoma FFA and Native American students. The position will maintain and further develop strong relationships withOklahoma’s 38 federally recognized Native American Tribes, Native Americanschools in Oklahoma, and other Oklahoma Native American communities.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- At least one (1) year of experience in a similar role

Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent listening skills, ability to develop and present information to others, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal/human relations skills, collaborative and cooperative approach, commitment to high-quality service, innovative, creative and self-motivated, ability to maintain confidentiality, ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities

- Knowledge and experience with medical schools in the United States
- Understanding of Oklahoma’s Native American culture
- Experience working in or with Oklahoma’s Native American culture
- Experience in student engagement
