Job Description

The College of Business Administration (COBA) at Texas A&M University-Central Texas (A&M-Central Texas) invites applications for an Assistant and/or Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems for the 2020-2021 academic year (mid-August-mid May). We anticipate hiring two faculty members, but one of the positions is budget pending at this time. The faculty member(s) will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in programming, data communications, computer networking, database management, cybersecurity and other related areas in computer information systems as determined by department needs and individual qualifications and interests. The faculty member will be expected to perform the following duties, including, but not limited to, meeting their courses as scheduled, holding regular office hours in accordance with COBA policy, attend COBA and department meetings, and submit syllabi and attendance verification on time. An Associate Professor would also be expected to work with junior faculty when feasible to mentor and assist in the development of their scholarship.

Minimum Education/Experience/Skills

• Earned PhD, or equivalent, in Information Systems / Computer Science or a closely related area.
• A demonstrated record of teaching excellence
• A demonstrated record of scholarly presentations and publications commensurate with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills

• Experience mentoring and co-authoring with colleagues
• Publications in top outlets in the field
• Significant industry experience in the areas listed above
• Industry-recognized technical certifications
• Previous online teaching experience

A start date of January 2020 is possible for one of the positions. If available to start in January 2020, please clearly indicate that in the cover letter.

TERM: 9 months - Contract date is officially September 1st-May 31 st
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and salaries of regional business schools in Texas
