Required Qualifications: (As evidenced by an attached resume)

Doctoral degree (Foreign equivalent or higher degree) in either Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics. Three (3) years of research experience (possibly including Ph.D studies) in high-performance computing in C++.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience writing parallel programs using at least 2 of OpenMP, MPI, CUDA, Silk, Legion, CnC or Intel TBB. Demonstrated expertise (e.g. with authored software, either provided or publicly accessible) in modern C++ (14 or 17).


Brief Description of Duties:

The successful candidate will conduct research and development aimed at the science-based co--design of a powerful C++ data-flow programming model and software ecosystem that attacks the twin challenges of programmer productivity and portable performance for advanced scientific applications on modern high-performance computers. Core responsibilities include:

Research and software development in C++ --- for an individual with a C/S background development work will focus on the design and implementation of the new parallel programming ecosystem, whereas for someone with a science background work will focus on the development of scientific software using the new programming environment going from prototypes for design space exploration to full science applications with proof-of-principle application studies

Writing papers for peer-reviewed publication and making conference presentations.

Assisting in the development of documentation and education/training materials, and providing training.

Online and in-person participation in collaborative execution of the project and growth.

Other duties assigned as necessary for the successful execution of the project including mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
