The Sr. Manager, Programs oversees the day-to-day administrative management of assigned institutional training grants (e.g. T32s) within the SCCC (Sylvester Cancer Center) and works to ensure the successful implementation of all training grant specific educational initiatives.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

• Tracks trainee progress towards completion of approved training plan
• Prepares annual and final reports to granting agencies
• Ensures training grant activities are managed within authorized budgets by working closely with Departmental financial administrators
• Works with internal stakeholders (e.g. Office of Research Administration, SCCC pre and post award teams) to ensure that programs are run efficiently and effectively
• Develops and cultivates relationships and partnerships with various external entities and organizations where necessary (e.g. NIH)
• Works with faculty to advertise and recruit eligible trainees for grant positions
• Works independently and frequently communicates action items and grant status to faculty
• Responsible for supporting and increasing training grant awards through development of workshops for trainees and faculty
• Experience coordinating trainees on T32 institutional training grants preferred
• Familiarity with NIH Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) reporting requirements
• Ability to process expense reports in Workday
• Knowledge of grant compliance preferred (eRA Commons)

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required, Master’s Degree in relevant field preferred
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
• Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
• Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
