Assistant Professor- English (Professional Writing and Rhetoric)

Teaching courses in Professional Writing including introductory, advanced, and graduate courses, advising and mentoring students.
Maintain an active scholarly program in Rhetorical studies.
Participate in department and college-wide committees and other forms of service.
Demonstrate a commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice,
Demonstrate a passion for teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds and with differing skill levels.
Works under the direct supervision of the department chair. Works closely with the department chair, faculty, and staff within the department. Additional working relationships with faculty and staff in other departments.Required Qualifications
-Ph.D. by the time of appointment with specialization in Rhetoric and Composition or related field.
-Record of teaching excellence
-Evidence of scholarly potential
- Specialization in genre, digital rhetorics, cultural rhetorics, materiality, or related sub-field
- Teaching interests and background in scientific or public policy writing, rhetorical code studies, grant writing, or other related areas encouraged, as well as ability to teach across a wide variety of technologies and familiarity with publishing software such as InDesign.
- Experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds
