Job Description:

TCS Education System is currently seeking a Graphic Design Intern for the Instructional Design department.

The Intern will work directly under the supervision of the Senior Learning Experience Designer. Responsibilities may include 1) create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts. 2) develop graphics for micro-credentials (badges), icons, and websites. We are looking for someone who can take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts, and other designs.

The intern will have an opportunity to contribute to improving how we design learning experiences and learn about professional practices and emerging trends in the field of digital learning and teaching. The intern will receive mentorship and gain experience by working with seasoned professionals in the field of instructional design and educational technology.

The Internship will be 3 months in duration. An extension may be given. The intern(s) will be expected to work 10 hours per week.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with Senior Learning Experience Designer and other Interns on projects.
  • Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, style, and related aesthetic concepts.
  • Creates visual aspects of learning materials, websites and other media, including infographics and badges.
  • Help research and assemble resources and templates related to effective learning, teaching, or web content design.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop).
  • Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail in all deliverables and communications.
  • A creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design.
  • Strong comprehension and creative visualization skills.
  • Strong self-motivation and self-management.
  • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements.

Position Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a College or Graduate program.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships.
  • Effective and appropriate written and verbal communication skills in a business environment.
