PLEASE NOTE: This is a 12 month position. For FY19, the hiring pay range for this 50% position is $16,331 to $23,330.Principal Responsibilities and Duties
- Assists with student support programs including tutoring students; may provide feedback to faculty or instructors regarding student progress. Encourages use of Learning Lab Services.
- Works on special academic projects.
- Assists with and attends outreach events and departmental projects as needed.
- May conduct workshops on professional development topics or subjects for faculty or tutors to enhance their ability to support student success.
- May plan and organize learning strategies, activities, and aids to serve individual student needs; may work with faculty or instructors to implement those strategies, activities or aids.
- May assist students in a Learning Lab if related to the discipline; may oversee projects or productions involving activities related to the discipline; may work with students at field locations as it relates to the discipline.
- May have additional, specific department duties that may be added at time of posting.
- Ability to maintain an established schedule which may include evenings and weekends and multiple campus locations.
- Effective planning, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of work and student-related information.
- Understanding of the principles and practices associated with Servant-Leadership.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues relating to a diverse student body.
- Ability to effectively assist and assess student learning.
- Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency using computer applications, classroom or other current learning technologies for effective teaching.
- Effective teaching techniques adaptable to a variety of learning styles with an understanding of the comprehensive philosophy of community colleges.
- Knowledge of subject matter and related and/or relevant topics and issues in the discipline.

- Work is routinely performed in an office/classroom environment.
