Description:

Albion College invites applications for the position of Engagement Officer; the College is currently recruiting for two open positions. This position is responsible for alumni engagement, philanthropic outreach, internship, and student service-learning opportunities. This position is responsible for engagement experiences varying in size from small group dinners to large networking events with strategic volunteer management in an assigned region. The Engagement Officer will cultivate philanthropic support by soliciting annual gifts, including new donor and retention strategies, to increase giving to the annual fund. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • 3 or more years related experience in sales, philanthropy, marketing/communication, community service or related fields preferred
  • Comfort and experience with “first contact and cold call” communication required
  • Must have a valid, or be eligible to obtain, a Michigan driver’s license, clearing initial and periodic driving record checks, and become an approved driver at the College
