Description:

The School of Nursing invites applications for full-time faculty positions with administrative responsibilities to lead both new and established programs. The School offers a variety of  programs including BSN, RN to BSN, Entry-Level Master’s, MSN with a variety of nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist tracks, education and administration, post-MSN certificates and fellowships, DNP, and PhD.

 

Successful candidates will offer the following:

  • A commitment to excellence in teaching 
  • Active engagement in curriculum development
  • Desire and ability to maintain an active research program and/or scholarly activities
  • Administrative/leadership skills appropriate to leading nursing education programs
  • Ability to develop and evaluate new and existing programs
  • Willingness to engage in recruitment of faculty and students
  • Enthusiastic mentoring of faculty
  • Participate in faculty and program governance
  • Generate creative ways of teaching and supporting learners

Specialization: Clinical specialization in Advanced Practice Nursing preferred

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsibilities include providing leadership for the academic programs, program evaluation and accreditation activities, and student recruitment and retention. 
  • This position is also directly responsible for mentoring faculty to be successful in teaching, research and service to the University.
  • May work at alternative Regional Campuses or Sites.

     

 

Level: Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor/Professor

Qualifications:  

  • Earned doctorate in Nursing or closely related discipline
  • Active California Registered Nurse license and board certification (depending on specific position requirements)
  • Those with Advanced practice and/or those with a strong background in Genomics/Epigenomics, Informatics, Mental and Behavioral Health research are strongly encouraged to apply.

Experience:  Professional expertise and experience commensurate with specific position requirements.

Workload:  Full-time
