The UNC Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases (IGHID) is a multi-departmental center within the School of Medicine, which exists to conduct infectious disease-related scientific, clinical, epidemiological, and behavioral research domestically and internationally, as well as provide technical assistance for the developing of HIV care and prevention programs.
Specifically, the Behavior and Technology Lab at UNC (BATLab) facilitates health behavior change through conducting technology-based research on all aspects of sexual health including factors that impact the acquisition, transmission, and treatment of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. The UNC Behavior and Technology Lab is a part of the Division of Infectious Diseases in the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
This position will support the Administrative Coordinator of the Behavior and Technology Lab at UNC (BATLab). The primary duties include but are not limited to calendar correspondence and management, travel and email support, event planning, note-taking, maintaining office cleanliness and general project management. This position will also work closely with the BATLab Finance Manager and assist with processing all invoices and assist with the execution of obtaining additional grant funds. This is a 100% office-based position: the employee will work on-site at both our Chapel Hill and Durham locations.

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience Required:
•Must be detail-oriented
•Must be able to create task lists and track them through to completion, or follow a set of directions through to completion
•Must be able to handle confidential information
•Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
•Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated

Preferred Skills:
-1 year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience
-1+ years’ experience in finance or related field
-Experience with Outlook/Outlook Calendar, Zoom, Excel, and Doodle Poll
