Job Summary

The Senior Research Information Specialist will report jointly to the Director of Research Communications and the Director of Medical Campus Public Relations & Strategic Communications. This position is responsible for promoting research at the University of Kentucky to internal and external audiences by creating content for news releases, newsletters, blogs, video scripts, podcasts and social media. Other responsibilities include managing multiple social media accounts for the Vice President for Research and providing content for other University social media channels. Also, pitching research-related stories and research experts to local, regional and national media reporters and outlets. This position also serves a member of the 24-hour on-call team for UK Public Relations and Strategic Marketing responding to media calls for patient information or crisis situations on campus.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Candidates must possess strong communication and organizational skills, able to work both independently and collaboratively, able to manage several projects at once, and have experience working with news

Bachelors degree in communication-related field.
