Position Description

Butler University seeks an Assistant Coach for Baseball. This position is a part-time, 12-month position.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching- Assist with teaching and coaching during individual/group skill instruction, practice coaching, game coaching and scouting which leads to the team’s competitive success.
  • Assist with pre and post-season conditioning, weight training and skill development.
  • Student-Athlete Experience- Assist with academic monitoring and personal development of student-athletes.
  • Contribute to building a positive team culture.
  • Recruiting- Assist with evaluation and recruitment of academically qualified and highly skilled student- athletes.
  • Administrative duties- Assist with budget oversight, team travel planning, equipment purchasing and field maintenance at Bulldog Park.
  • Other duties as assigned by head coach.

Qualifications:

  • Earned four-year baccalaureate degree required. Masters preferred.
  • Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required.
  • The desired candidate will have outstanding verbal communication and leadership skills and be able to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff.
  • Demonstrated fundraising skills preferred.

Salary:

  • Commensurate with experience.
