The Department of Physics at William & Mary seeks applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in experimental hadronic physics to begin in Fall 2020. You would be expected to establish an internationally recognized research program that complements and enhances the existing strengths in the department, which currently has 27 full-time faculty members, approximately 55 PhD graduate students, and a substantial number of undergraduate majors who actively participate in its various research programs. The department currently has 4 faculty members active in experimental nuclear physics, with a broad program centering on hadronic and electroweak physics at nearby Jefferson Lab. William & Mary has a strong tradition of excellent teaching, and you would be expected to play an important role in mentoring both doctoral and undergraduate students in the Physics DepartmentRequired Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Applicants must hold a PhD in nuclear physics, or a closely related field of physics, at the time of appointment, August 10, 2020.Preferred Qualifications
