Organizational Description

The College of Science and Mathematics provides study and training for students in the areas of biology, chemistry, computer science, earth and environmental sciences, mathematics, physics, and psychology. The college’s goal is to provide professional training at the undergraduate and graduate levels to serve as a foundation for careers in science or mathematics, to provide pre-professional training in preparation for careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine and other professions, and for continued study at the graduate level.

Support courses for non-science majors, including those in agriculture, engineering, and the health professions and courses for general education for all university students are also offered through the college. The College is involved in several CSU initiatives and international partnerships.

Overview

Under the general supervision of the Advising and Resource Center (ARC) Director and Building Opportunities through Networks of Discoveries (BOND) Lead Faculty Coordinator, this position provides general administrative support the Advising and Resources Center and coordinates special student success projects for the BOND program. Administrative support and projects are usually operational and procedural in nature. The incumbent will provide administrative support and program coordination, procurement of services and supplies, data collection and management, and maintain a positive work environment for all who interact with the ARC and BOND. Projects involve a wide range of problems requiring use of reason and judgment, interpretation of policies, and contact with individuals at all levels of the University and individuals on and off-campus.

Position Summary

Major Duties of the job include:

  • Provide students with academic information as needed.
  • Assist with planning and executing student success events.
  • Assist with the management of ARC/Bond student assistants.
  • Assist ARC/BOND with procurement of supplies and/or supplies.
  • Maintain both ARC and BOND’s master calendars.
  • Assist with provision of a seamless process in which the ARC Staff and BOND faculty work together.
  • Assist with the development, design and maintenance of brochures, fliers and informational leaflets.
  • Maintain both ARC and BOND financial operating budgets as well as process all financial transactions.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by ARC Director and BOND Lead Faculty Coordinator.
  • Assist with the onboarding process of student assistants and instructional student assistants.
  • Prioritize essential tasks as may periodically be required.

Secondary Duties of the job include:
