Position Description:

Driving the initiatives of UCLA Health System's enterprise is the ability to raise funds for efforts that keep vital research, programs and initiatives in motion. Timely, proper and targeted acknowledgement of donor gifts and other donor correspondence helps ensure strong engagement with and appreciation for donors' philanthropic support.
Working closely with colleagues in Health Sciences Development (HSD), the Communications Writer will research, write and produce timely, accurate acknowledgment letters and other correspondence on behalf of the Health Sciences Development office to major donors of the institution. This individual will provide additional acknowledgments as needed for the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Health Sciences Development; Vice Chancellor of Health Sciences; Dean, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA; and President, UCLA Health. The Communications Writer will compose and proof various other writing projects as needed. This individual must be a proven English language specialist who not only has finely honed spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax skills, but also is able to recommend solicitation approaches for various targeted audiences and coordinate special projects as assigned by the Senior Director of Development Communications, Health Sciences Development.
