Position Description:
xLAB seeks a candidate for full-time research and coordination of an emerging program in collaboration with the UCLA Center for Japanese Studies and the Department of Architecture and Urban Design. The xLAB engages new research in architecture and interdisciplinary education to design a new creative education program that adapts the technological environment into the physical environment. This innovative research program generates disciplinary value to further expand the architecture profession. Educational research and methods explored through xLAB will be implemented and tested in a studio program curriculum. The candidate will additionally be responsible for overseeing administrative tasks related to research communications, management, implementation, and financial coordination.

UCLA is a public research university located in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The 2010 edition of U.S. News & World Report ranked UCLA as the 24th best university in the nation and 32nd best in the world. In the 2007 edition of U.S. News and World Report, UCLA Medical Center was ranked best in the West, as well as one of the top 3 hospitals in the United States alongside Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 15 of the 16 medical specialty areas examined, UCLA Medical Center ranked in the top 20.
