Detailed Description:
This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefit based position with an assignment end date of 6/21/2020.

This position will be responsible for cleaning dishes and performing custodial kitchen tasks in one of a number of dining facilities across campus. Examples of work include:

Maintaining dining facility cleanliness, including:
  • Cleaning dishes
  • Taking out the trash
  • Wiping down dining tables
  • Stocking inventory
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements:
    Qualifications:
    Experience preferred, but not required. Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish job duties and responsibilities. Knowledge of or willing to learn how to work kitchen equipment. Understanding of proper sanitation and safety principles. Basic math skills are necessary. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. individually and up to 75 lbs. with assistance.

    Special Conditions of Employment:
    If hired, must complete a 3-hour sanitation class as required by the San Diego Health Department within 30 days of employment. Must complete the University's Hazmat Communication Program. Must have or obtain a County of San Diego Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, intersession, and summer conference periods.

    Background check: Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

    Degree Verification Requirement: Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes.

    Posting Salary:
    $12.00 per hour
    This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefit based position.
