Open Rank Professor in Agribusiness or Agricultural Economics (R-01999)

Job description

Responsibilities: The Department of Agriculture at Fort Hays State University is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track, nine-month, open-rank professor of agribusiness and/or agricultural economics starting in August 2020. Teaching duties include a typical load of 12 credit hours (3-4 courses) per semester. Online and summer teaching offer opportunities for supplemental salary. Other duties include research, service, and advising of students.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, or a closely related field (ABD will be considered). Applicants must demonstrate effective teaching, communication, and interaction with students and colleagues. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach Agricultural Commodity Marketing and Agricultural Finance, can develop and/or teach online courses, and have a good understanding of agricultural production practices in the High Plains/Midwest Farm Regions. Other Agricultural experience or expertise will be valued, including but not limited to agricultural price analysis and risk and agricultural marketing, management, and policy.
