Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking several Coordinators, Academic Support, Boca Raton, FL.

This is a complex administrative position that maintains extensive knowledge of university admission and advising requirements, policies and procedures in order to interpret those regarding admissions and coordination.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruiting efforts by providing admissions information to prospective students, creating communication materials, representing the university at onsite locations and conduct virtual orientation/Information sessions.
  • Works closely with the director and assistant director to develop and implement admissions goals and advising strategies, in addition to working closely with the undergraduate admission office and other university departments related to the student lifecycle.
  • Use the inquiry database (Hobsons) and reports to build a pipeline of prospective students, engaging with them from initial contact to enrollment.
  • Analyze application and enrollment data, and implement recruitment strategies to increase prospective student inquiries and enrollment. Work with the Undergraduate Admission Department to coordinate admission processes i.e. student applications, official transcripts, residency paperwork.
  • Work with the immunization department, registrar's office, IRM and international student office to ensure that prospective students' paperwork is finalized.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism, while providing individualized assistance throughout the application process.
  • Assist with the interpretation and implementation of University and the College of Business policies as they relate to admissions and registration of the market rate programs and online programs.
  • Facilitate and organize orientation for new groups starting in Fall, Spring and Summer terms.
  • Manage the collection and processing of student payments and company billing; send reports to Executive Director at the end of each semester with collection status program.
  • Advise/counsel students on their academic programs, including administering academic policy, updating records for currently enrolled students, facilitating registration, orientation, and graduation certification.
  • Manage the coordination and delivery of academic support services within the College of Business.
  • Oversee graduation paperwork and audit for all students.
  • Prepare and schedule events for the programs.
  • Resolve problems as they arise or recommends how problems can be resolved.
  • Exercise independent judgment while managing students in their respective program.
  • Provide general office support if requested in other areas i.e. retention, registration.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director or Associate Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of office administration experience required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

Must also have excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
