Reporting to the Director of Multimedia Services and Producer of CCPTV, the Technical Craft Specialist B – Video Production is part of a team responsible for ensuring the production quality of CCPTV programs and video productions for cablecast. This position performs a full range of tasks related to video production, such as editing and assembling video and audio clips, creating and inserting graphical elements, and equalizing audio and video. The position also provides assistance to the production crew in operating video cameras, teleprompters and set-up of lighting, as needed.

Specific Responsibilities

• Edit video productions for cablecast on CCPTV and for other College uses including assembling video and audio clips, creating and inserting title graphics, inserting other graphical elements, inserting music, equalizing audio and video for output and creating compressions for cablecast, DVD or other purposes.

• Update the broadcast scheduler and Google calendar.

• Data enter file names of video compressions, descriptions of the programs, running time, talent, crew, show dates, etc. into Excel spreadsheets and Google Docs.

• Sort data and transfer data into Microsoft Word for distribution as needed.

• Enter data and store data in accordance with pre-determined file naming protocols and locations.

• Organize pertinent digital files on MAC and PC platforms.

• Create file compressions for broadcast, DVD or other purposes.

• Assist the production crew in the operation of video cameras, teleprompters, set-up of lighting, etc., as needed.

• Create duplicate DVD’s as needed.

• Deliver quality customer services to both internal and external constituents in a professional, helpful and courteous manner.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, or GED equivalent, is required.

• Two (2) years of relevant video production experience within a professional work environment required.

• Two (2) years previous experience in video editing and the operation of video equipment and cameras required.

• Demonstrated knowledge of methods and techniques used in the video editing field required.

• Demonstrated proficiency using professional video editing software for PC and MAC computer systems required.

• Demonstrated proficiency utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel required.

• Ability to work well independently or as a member of a team required.

• Ability to work evenings and Saturdays, as needed, is required.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. is required.

• Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.

• Previous experience using professional non-linear editing software the equivalent of Adobe Premier Pro or better preferred.

• Previous experience using Google Docs and Google calendars preferred.
