Interprets college and university policies and provides guidance related to contract and grant initiatives and recommends policies to ensure compliance.

Lead grant coordinator for the department, trains new staff, assists department in establishing new grant management programs and recommends policies and procedures related to grants activities. Researches and identifies funding opportunities, works with and advises PIs and interprets technical information to grantees.

Monitors fiscal activities for reporting purposes to ensure compliance with federal, state and university policies. Analyzes, verifies, records and tracks transactions (revenue, transfers, expenditures) of a financial nature. Prepares integrated financial and statistical reports, financial statement, and projections for short and/or long term impact on grant funding.

Supervises two Grant Compliance Associates. Cross trains and serves as back-up to other grant staff members. Processes human resources items and other fiscal items for all contract and grants assigned as well as other budgets as requested. Additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or supervisor.Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and one year of appropriate experience.

Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.

Knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Knowledge of applicable computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word.Preferred Experience with using OMNI, SpearMart and NIH eRA Commons are strongly preferred.

Bacehlor's degree and two year's of experience.

Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
