TheDepartment of Psychology and the Department of Statistical Sciences in theFaculty of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto invites applicationsfor a joint (67% Statistical Sciences, 33% Psychology) full-time tenure streamappointment in Psychology and Statistical Sciences. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor andwill begin on July 1, 2020, or shorty thereafter.

 

We areinterested in candidates from psychology and statistical science whodemonstrate excellence in teaching and research, whose research program advancesboth disciplines, and complements our existing strengths in both Psychology andStatistical Sciences. We are particularly interested in scholars who transcendtraditional statistical and psychology research topics, and who are working onnon-traditional areas at the cutting edge of both disciplines.

 

Applicantsmust have a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closelyrelated field by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. Excellence inresearch is evidenced primarily by the quality of published or forthcomingpapers in top ranked and field-relevant academic journals, the submitted researchstatement, presentations at conferences, research awards and accolades, andstrong endorsements by referees of top international stature. Evidence forexcellence in teaching is based on strong letters of reference, teachingaccomplishments and a teaching dossier containing a strong statement ofteaching philosophy, teaching evaluations and sample syllabi.
