The Marketing Manager establishes marketing strategies that advance organizational objectives and leads all marketing and advertising activities for the Miami Book Fair (MBF). This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

- Develops, plans and executes marketing plans and strategies that advance organizational objectives and ensures that the Miami Book Fair brand is reaching the appropriate target audiencesAssists in the implementation of long-range marketing plans and produces materials in various media including print, broadcast and web/digital mediaConsults with directors and program managers to identify needs, objectives, marketing deliverables and design approachesDevelops marketing agenda, schedules and budgets as required for each projectCollects data to evaluate customer research, market conditions, competitor data and advertising trendsAssists with securing media sponsorships, presentations and promoting programsServes as a liaison with external advertising personnel and related persons to coordinate the planning and reservation of advertising space in a variety of mediums Manages marketing resources according to agreed budgets, monitors and verifies expenditure of budgeted fundsProvides marketing recommendations to the Director of Programs & StrategyOversees and ensures effective workflow and trafficking of jobsPerforms other duties as assigned

- Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field of study such as Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, or Public Relations and two (2) years directly related marketing and advertising experience; or Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in relevant field and six (6) years of directly related experienceKnowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and proceduresPossess excellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to multi-task and manage competing priorities, including keeping track of deadlines, prioritizing, leading teams to meet deadlines, establishing timelines and due datesKnowledge of current technological development and trends in area of expertise Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry literatureStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the top management, groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, as well as, knowledge and proficiency in desktop publishing, Microsoft Office Suite and Mac ApplicationsAbility to work with user communities of diverse backgrounds and skill levelsAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignmentsAbility to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
