Position Summary

The Assistant Director of International Student Advising serves as the main academic advisor for a large number of CAS international students, including external transfer students, internal transfer/transition students, and incoming students participating in the International University Exchange program. The Assistant Director serves as a key resource for CAS staff members in addressing the unique challenges of advising international students. The Assistant Director also assists in the implementation of marketing events to recruit students for admissions into College's Programs, including developing information sessions and open houses, and attending university-wide and external events, acting as a liaison with faculty and other University personnel, and representing the Dean and the College to internal and external constituencies.

Qualifications

Required Education:Master's Degree in related field.Required Experience:3+ years of professional level experience in academic advisement, event planning, student affairs, international student initiatives, study abroad opportunities, and/or staff training with a specialization in the developmental needs of international students.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Ability to interpret and communicate policies to individuals at all levels. Ability to advise diverse student population on a multitude of topics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
