The position responsibilities include assistant coaching, practice planning and recruitment of student athletes. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with Northcentral Technical College's vison, mission, core beliefs and values.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach in providing instruction to student athletes regarding the specific skills needed to play the sport, to build and inspire great teamwork, and for their own leadership and professional development.
  • Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of practices, team meetings, scrimmages and collegiate competitions.
  • Assist the head coach to build a cohesive and competitive program.
  • Proactive in building relationship with student-athletes while motivating and supporting their academic success.
  • Abide by the rules and regulations of the league in which you will be competing.
  • Understand and have knowledge of FERPA.
  • Responsible for assisting the head coach with recruiting of student athletes.
  • Responsible for taking a leadership role in NTC Esports.
  • Play a role within the NTC Esports staff when issues, concerns or ideas occur.
  • Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies including NACE.
  • Provides exceptional customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
  • Demonstrate NTC's vision, mission and its core beliefs and values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • High School diploma required, higher education degree preferred.
  • Coaching experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the esports industry and particular games including: Overwatch, League of Legends and Rocket League.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Strong service-oriented skills and the ability to have an exceptional customer service attitude.
  • Broad knowledge of Northcentral Technical College and how it plays vital role in northcentral Wisconsin.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral which transcend diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated motivational and ethical problem solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity.
  • Must be flexible and able to work an irregular schedule, evenings or Saturdays as needed, additional hours during peak times or as required.
  • Ability to handle oneself and NTC Esports student-athletes in a professional setting which includes the arena.
  • Possession of a valid WI Driver's license with the ability to pass NTC insurance carrier standards as some travel is expected with possible use of campus vehicles.
  • Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of college computer equipment and telephone (eye and hand strain). May be some heavy lifting involved.
