Position Description:
UCLA Advancement Services performs vital administrative, financial, and technology services to External Affairs (EA) departments as well as facilitates and supports the broad range of its customers' activities through a variety of value-added services including application development, management and support. This department is a key partner in major initiatives across EA that span a wide variety of business applications and system technologies.

Under the supervision of the Director of Application Development, the Front-End Web Developer will develop Web applications supporting the departments of External Affairs. This individual will perform analysis of user requirements; design, develop, and deploy solutions; train users (if applicable); and troubleshoot and maintain systems. The Front-End Web Developer will develop new Web applications, support existing WordPress websites, and replace legacy applications using modern Javascript technology and frameworks. This individual will work closely with UI/UX designer, create responsive mobile/tablet compatible web pages using HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap, React or Angular, and interact with backend API for dynamic content or utilizing AWS services to fulfill functionality related to user experiences. The Front-End Web Developer will also evaluate, design, and implement Content Management Solutions for supporting marketing, organizational and internal website needs for External Affairs department. This individual will deploy websites on AWS and be responsible for the performance and security of workloads as well as the safeguarding of data running on AWS. In addition, the Front-End Developer will produce technical documentation and participate in team cross-training activities.
