Staff Counselor Health and Counseling Center

St. Edward's University is seeking a companionate and patient Staff Counselor to join the Health and Counseling Center. The Staff Counselor performs professional client care through individual, couples, group and crisis counseling. The incumbent will serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team. The Staff Counselor will comply with the professional requirements of the Health and Counseling Center (HCC) and St. Edward's University policies and procedures, as well as all State and Federal professional legal requirements. This position is an integral part of a vibrant and growing university community and is dedicated to supporting the healthy development of the whole student. The incumbent will contribute to the growth of the students, the department, and the university as a whole.

For consideration, a Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related mental health field is required. Licensure in Texas at the time of hiring is required. Working knowledge of HIPPA and FERPA is a must. Successful experience providing counseling to young adults age 17-26 is required. Training or experience working in a university counseling or health center preferred. Knowledge/training in multicultural issues. Experience providing culturally competent services for clients who identify as Hispanic preferred. Must possess the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
