Commensurate with education, experience and qualifications (Coaching positions are not tenure track and do not guarantee future employment rights).
Anticipated monthly hiring salary range is $5,916 - $6,250.
Under direction of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting with planning and directing the recruitment, conditioning training and athletic performance of student-athlete team members. Assume responsibility for the success of team performance, and for student-athletes in meeting academic performance and eligibility criteria. Promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the University.
Support the conditioning and training of athletic team members in conjunction with strength/weight coach, athletic trainers and team physicians.
Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of academic progress and eligibility status of student-athlete team members, in cooperation with Academic Support Services; and support the Student-Athlete Assistance Program.
Support and implement department Recruiting Code in identification and selection of prospective student-athletes.
Assist as requested in contest scheduling and coordination of team travel.
Assure NCAA institutional and conference rules compliance in all efforts relating to the baseball program to include recruiting, scheduling, extra benefits, etc.
Assist in the responsibility for student-athlete education, and enforcement of participation, behavioral conduct and appearance rules and requirements.
Prepare data and reports as necessary in support of NCAA, Conference, and University requirements, and perform other duties as may be assigned by the Athletic Director or designee.
Assist in the promotion of fundraising activities and/or the promotion of events, as requested.
Ability to communicate effectively with Head Coach and student-athletes.
Support policy on coaches and represent department in an appropriate manner at all times.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to support the equity and diversity commitments of the department and University.
Cooperation professionally and collegiality with the media, the community, the University and the Athletic Department staff and administration.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and project a professional attitude.
A history of regular attendance and positive performance evaluations.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Coaching philosophy and teaching concepts must be compatible with those of the Head Coach.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in coaching, physical education, exercise science or related field from an accredited four-year institution.
Two (2) years experience coaching men's baseball at the collegiate level.
