Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

This is a full-time field, laboratory, and office research position funded by research dollars. Continued employment is contingent on funding availability. Field work involves participating as a crew member conducting fish surveys, monitoring fish populations, and helping with other field and laboratory studies. Field research may involve overnight travel for up to four days at a time (transportation is provided departing from UGA). Laboratory research involves fish sorting and identification, aquatic invertebrate identification, and water quality analyses. Office research includes data analysis, literature reviews, online research, report writing, and manuscript composition.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Experience in fish collection and other aquatic field work; experience in data management and data analysis in R; knowledge of the relevant scientific literature; experience in GIS analyses; very good written and oral communications skills.

Physical Demands

Lift 25 lbs; work full days in the field under adverse conditions; swim; spend long hours at a computer. Some work may be in remote locations under adverse conditions, and work is physically challenging.

Conduct field work collecting fish, aquatic invertebrates, and water quality samples in locations throughout Georgia.
