CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Responds to dispatcher and goes to instructed location. Takes necessary action at the scene of crime or disturbance. Conducts investigations and makes arrests. Completes reports, forms, and other routine paperwork. Investigates safety hazards and takes action to correct potential problem areas. Renders aid to the physically injured and requests medical personnel. Provides motorized, foot, or bicycle patrol to assigned areas. Participates in job-related training and courses to maintain skills, knowledge, and abilities. Pursues and apprehends fleeing suspects. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Associate Degree in relevant field required

Certification and Licensing:

Law Enforcement Certification

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the University’s core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Valid State of Florida driver’s license
