Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PeopleAdmin Talent Management software reporting tools and functionality
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCM systems and integrations
- Familiarity with UGA position and personnel data
The University of Georgia Human Resources department is seeking applicants for an independent and effective HR Data Specialist. This role is investigative and analytical in nature, and spends a large preponderance of time analyzing data sets, cleaning existing data sets, and compiling reports for different Human Resources initiatives.
The immediate focus of the position will be to work with the University’s applicant tracking and position management system; UGAJobs.
This position will be essential in helping to create, expand, and maintain databases identified as critical needs to the University.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Demonstrated interest in investigative work.
- Ability to work with and clean large data sets
- Ability to work autonomously while delivering high quality, accurate, and timely results.
- Ability to communicate professionally in both oral and written mediums.
- Standard office environment
- Occasional overtime work (e.g. > 40 hours/week) may be required

Assists in the development, implementation, and on-going maintenance of large data sets that serve multi-disciplinary purposes.

Provide technical support to UGAJobs (PeopleAdmin) applications and modules.
Problem solve issues related to data, connectivity, networking, applications, reporting, technical security.

Function as a first responder to new tickets or calls on clients technical issues
Escalate client request upward if unable to find a resolution.
Assist in developing documentation, knowledge base, and best practice guides.
