Description:GGC invites applicants for an Instructor, Assistant, Associate and Full Professor position in Biology starting August 1, 2020. Successful candidates will be expected to teach Biology courses that support both general education, biology and environmental science majors and contribute to the teaching of courses that support concentrations in Cell Biology/Biotechnology, Biochemistry, General Biology and Teacher Certification. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, Microbiology, Immunology, Virology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Toxicology. Successful candidates will actively participate in teaching, undergraduate research and service activities at the College, School and Discipline levels. The individual in this position will be expected to achieve a record of scholarly activity and success in teaching college level courses, in addition to mentoring undergraduate students. In accordance with Board of Regents Policy governing GGC faculty, successful applicants will be eligible to receive three or five year renewable appointments or one year traditional appointments may also be approved. Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Master's degree (M.S./M.A.) in an appropriate Biology discipline for instructor positions.
  • A Doctorate degree (Ph.D) for Assistant, Associate and Full Professor positions. Assistant, Associate and Full Professor faculty should have a doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in their discipline before the start date of the Fall 2020 semester.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellent teaching and research is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree.
