The department is establishing a pool of applicants to fill potential part-time temporary teaching positions and full-time visiting faculty position openings. (Please note: FT Visiting positions are rare and they should not be the sole purpose for your application.)

Major Responsibilities

A classroom based 3 credit hour course pays $2875 per class. The department typically hires for the courses/subject areas listed below but this list is not all inclusive. Other courses/subject areas may become available within the department. ILLUSTRATIVE NEEDS INCLUDE: Undergraduate courses focused on Teaching Elementary School Mathematics, Teaching Elementary School Science, Teaching Elementary School Social Studies, Using Educational Technology in the Classroom, Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood Education or Supervision of Student Teachers.

Functional and Supervisory Relationships

Reports to the academic department chair.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in elementary or early childhood education or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching at the early childhood or elementary levels.

Certification in elementary or early childhood education or a related certification area (Literacy, special education, etc.)

Experience teaching at the college level.
Doctorate in elementary or early childhood education or a related field.
