Community Education French Language and Culture Instructor (Part-time)

Description of Position

HIRING RANGE: $25.00 (Low Enrollment), $30.00 (Full Enrollment)

A Community Education instructor prepares course content and teaches recreational, leisure and special interest non-credit classes to adults covering a variety of topics of interest to the community. Looking for a part-time instructor to teach evenings beginning the spring 2020 term in the following category:

  • French Language and Culture Instructor
General duties:
- Develops and prepares course proposal for acceptance by Community Education program
- Develops and delivers course content to students
- Prepares and distributes course outline / syllabus to students
- Develops and manages teaching and learning strategies that optimize student learning
- Participates in marketing class throughout the community
- Complies with department and College policies and procedures
- Other related duties as assigned

NOTE: Classes are held at Prescott campus location

This is a temporary part-time position working 0 - 19 hours per week as scheduled.Minimum Expectations & Requirements

- Speaks fluent French
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of the language and ability to clearly teach others how to speak the language and to understand the culture of France
- Current resume or Curriculum Vitae
- Course proposal submitted to Community Education program for a 6-week course with daily course outline
- Course approved and accepted by the Community Education program
- Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties

Preferred Skills & Abilities

- Bachelor's degree preferred
- State certification where applicable
- Prior experience teaching adult learners, preferably 2-plus years
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well with students and staff
- Ability to work with diverse learning abilities
- Work experience in a community college/higher education work environment
