TheInternal Audit Office has an opening for the position ofInformation Technology Auditor , above grade 12. I. Basic Functions:Drafts audit programs and conducts audit and investigative assignments covering the University, Medical Center, AREC, and the New York Office with specific reference to IT/IS systems and data and related technology, as well as compliance with laws, regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, and standards. The incumbent also works productively with the internal audit team and communicates with management to identify areas of concern. Understands systems and the relation to business processes. Plans, gathers evidence, prepares audit working papers, prepares audit reports, makes and follows up on recommendations relating to IT system risk management and enhancement of internal control.


The IT Auditor must have strong initiative and focus on achieving results. The IT Auditor participates in the activities of the Internal Audit and ensures that professionalism is maintained through the adherence to Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and the applicable standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
II. Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science. from an accredited University or equivalent degree with IT or Audit experience. A Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration is an asset.
  • CISA, CISSP, or similar certification is a must. This requirement might be substituted by a Master’s degree in Business or an IT field, or/and additional years of IT audit experience (above the minimum requested below).
  • 2-5 years of experience, in at least one (or a combination) of the following fields is a must: IT Audit, IT Security, Database Systems, Operating Systems, and Networks. Greater emphasis will be on the audit experience.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with computer environments and operating systems such as MS Windows, MS Office applications, Oracle databases, internet, intranet, wireless connectivity, client/servers, web-based applications, security systems, networks, etc.
  • Work experience in higher education or health care operations is an asset.
  • Excellent command of English; good communication and presentation skills.
