The Assistant Director provides general student support and advising and communicates with faculty and parents as appropriate. The Assistant Director reviews and triages incoming reports received in the university’s Care reporting system, receives and addresses Care reports in a timely manner, monitors staff management of their assigned reports, and manages the unit’s several software modules.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in College Student Affairs Administration, Counseling or related field by the date of appointment.
Experience working with a college-aged population and a strong commitment to student well-being and development.
Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work within a diverse setting including students, faculty, student affairs staff, and family members.
Demonstrated problem solving and referral skills.
Ability to develop, organize and manage effective systems that create new efficiencies
Experience working with information databases.
Demonstrated solid technical skills and ability to learn new technology resources.

Preferred Qualifications

At least two years’ experience working in a higher education setting and experience working in student development or Dean of Students administration.
Preference will be given for experience working with student affairs database programs or equivalent experience.
