Basic Function

Part-time faculty members are needed to teach college-level Graphic Design courses at the Alexandria campus. Salary is per credit hour and based on education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach college-level Graphic Design courses at the Alexandria Campus.
Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 10 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs. Instruction may be during the day, evening, or weekend.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have an earned Master’s degree from an accredited university or college. Applicants must have proven design experience outside of academia and with a diverse set of graphic design skills. Advanced skills and understanding of the current version of the Adobe Creative Cloud software is needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Desired qualifications include having college-level teaching experience and/or relevant work experience as well as having the ability to use instructional technologies; Daytime, evening, and/or weekend availability.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Adept knowledge of instructional technologies
•Excellent interpersonal and native or near-native oral and written English skills
•Ability to work with a diverse student population
•Successful passing of a criminal background check
•Adjunct faculty are required to meet assigned classes on meeting dates, submit required grade records and reports, student learning outcomes.
•Classes maybe held during the day, evening or combination of both.

Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check is required.

The incumbent may have a Fall 2018 or Spring 2019 Start date.

Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 10 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs. Instruction may be during the day, evening, or weekend.

The adjunct faculty appointment contains no guarantee of continued employment.

Background Check Statement
