Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:45 pm

Job Summary: The Program Coordinator - Research is responsible for assisting with the management of programs in the areas of Research.

Additional Department Summary: The AWI Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the substantial public outreach and contributions to the development, management, and implementation of quality institute educational programs for students and adult audiences. The coordinator will identify and substantially contribute to the development, writing and submitting grant applications for outreach and education. The Coordinator increases public-awareness through education-oriented institute events, designs creative marketing and social media campaigns and expands institute outreach opportunities through externally funding activities.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field and five (5) years of experience. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of personal computers and standard software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet applications, etc.). Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational and time management skills. Ability to travel to off-campus meetings and conferences (some overnight travel required) is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a science or engineering-related field; two-years prior experience in educational activities, public outreach activities and grant application writing.
