Job Details

Bioengineering Tenure Track Position Department: Bioengineering Academic Category&Field of Expertise: Engineering: Bioengineering Department / Position Website - https://engineering.lehigh.edu/bioe Position Description - The P.C. Rossin College of Engineering & Applied Science (RCEAS) at Lehigh University invites applications from qualified individuals for a tenure-track faculty position at all ranks in the Bioengineering Department. Areas of particular interest include fabrication, characterization, and computational modeling of advanced technologies and interfaces applicable to biosensors, wearable devices and diagnostics. This broad research area would support the design and development of devices capable of collecting health-relevant data from individuals or populations, providing the information infrastructure needed for health analytics. This growing field is aligned closely with the newly established College of Health at Lehigh University, and its foci on population health and on the biological and social determinants of health.

Lehigh has made a long-term commitment to growth in Bioengineering, starting with the establishment of an undergraduate program in 2002, a graduate program in 2009, and the department in 2017. Bioengineering at Lehigh developed from a multi-disciplinary program that drew its core and associated faculty from a number of departments, including Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Mechanics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, and Physics. We have established a sizable new research facility, the Health Research Hub, and seek to expand faculty strength further. New hires will be expected to interact with recently formed interdisciplinary institutes in the RCEAS, such as the Institute for Data, Intelligent Systems, and Computation (iDISC), and the Institute for Functional Materials and Devices (iFMD), as well as the new College of Health.
