The College of Engineering at Bucknell University is accepting applications for an Associate Director of Business Operations. This role is responsible for developing, implementing and advising on the management processes and business administration of the College of Engineering and acts as a liaison between the College and the Offices of the Provost, Facilities, Finance, General Counsel, and Human Resources. This is a full-time, 12 month, benefits eligible position reporting to the Dean of Engineering.

Job duties include:
· Manage the College of Engineering operating budgets, gifts, capital, and project funds in coordination with multiple units on campus; maintain knowledge of University resources outside of the College of Engineering to promote appropriate use of funding streams.
· Manage processes for the College budgets, including long-term budget planning, annual budgeting, and expenditure oversight.
· Plan and administer the allocation of resources related to the goals of the College's strategic plan.
· Plan and administer space and facility usage including annual office allocations, space needs and space planning. Serve as a liaison with the Facilities Office on all facility projects and plans and oversees all engineering moves.
· Administer, in conjunction with the Associate Deans, the annual replacement and temporary faculty position needs, working with the Associate Deans and/or the department chairs to assess the impact of enrollment, faculty leaves, and release time on each department.
· In coordination with department chairs, review the annual teaching loads to ensure faculty loads are following the faculty teaching load policy.
· Track faculty salaries within the college: by rank and diversity, and against external benchmarks and compression. Support the College of Engineering financial management of faculty lines, especially as it relates to staffing the educational program.
· Work with faculty, the Faculty Director of Engineering Sponsored Research, and the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) to develop budgets for external grant funding. Assist PIs, Finance and Sponsored Projects in post-award budget management; manage returned overhead from external grants at the College, department and PI level. Prepare periodic financial reports for external funding agencies and grant information for reporting purposes in conjunction with OSP.
· Track grant activity and student research in collaboration with the Executive Director of OSP and the Director of Undergraduate Fellowships and Research including the number of grant applications, grants awarded, number of undergraduate and graduate students supported on external funds.
· Provide leadership for the Dean’s Office staff and the College’s Lead Academic Assistant. Carry out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
· Enforce University policies and procedures across all departments within the College. Enforce, maintain and create policies and procedures as necessary in various areas of the Dean’s Office.
· Advise and provide guidance to the faculty and academic assistants on College-level administrative processes, consulting with the Dean of Engineering as needed.
· Actively contribute to Bucknell’s efforts to foster a diverse and inclusive campus community.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree
· Five years of relevant budget management experience or equivalent work experience
· Advanced spreadsheet skills and proficiency with desktop computer software applications such as ad hoc report writers, word processing and presentation software
· Critical thinking skills that include the ability to articulate issues, analyze data, develop options, and provide recommendations
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to execute numerous responsibilities simultaneously and meet deadlines
· Work collaboratively and productively with faculty, students, staff, and the community
· Proactive approach to projects, problem solving, communication needs, and planning
· Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
· Ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of an educational environment (new technology, policies, personnel, procedures, etc.) including the willingness to develop and apply new skills

Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting
· Experience in the area of grant administration
· Prior supervisory experience
· Experience with Workday ERP system
