Position Status: Full-Time

Position Summary:
Henderson Library. The Help Desk Support Technician serves as resource for student technicians in solving high level technical problems and manages computer labs.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates support for staff members, departmental computer labs and special projects.
  • Educates staff and students on security awareness, virus infections and password protection.
  • Resolves issues with virus infections, network connectivity and GSTV.
  • Inspects and reports faulty data jacks or ports.
  • Inspects and replaces faulty Cat 5e or Cat6 cables.
  • Maintains and addresses issues detected on vulnerability scan reports.
  • Performs software and hardware upgrades for staff machines.
  • Administers LPTOne printer services; oversees all system and software upgrades or requests and tracks computer inventory.

    Associate’s Degree or two years of post-secondary education

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment

    Salary Range: $30,900 - $33,360
