The Senior Grant Accountant will manage small award budgets and coordinating fiscal related activities. Monitor and maintains grant and cost share on these accounts, includingprogrammatic, regulatory, and fiscal activities of internally funded researchand externally funded sponsored programs. Provide guidance to principle investigators and staff regarding award requirements.
Skilled in accounting, reconciliations, grant administration, billing,and/or financial analysis. Intermediate or above Excel and Word skills.
Must work independently while also being an effective team member. Must possessthe ability to work on several projects simultaneously and efficiently.
Typical office environment.
Ability to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk,finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with orwithout reasonable accommodations. Special Instructions to Applicants Education & Experience Position Qualifications: Required:
-Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience
-Two years of grant accounting experience or two-three years of mid-levelor above accounting experience (including strong reconciliation experience)
-Experience with fund accounting and cost principles as they relate tofederal, state, and private grants and contracts.
-Experience with Banner Research Accountingmodule.
-Master's degree in accounting
-Prefer experience in grants/contracts/accounting in a higher educationsetting.
-Banner experience preferred.
-Familiarity with 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance, specifically for costprinciples and audit requirements.
