Café Barista Cashier
This position ensures smooth and professional food and beverage service including beer and wine, with an emphasis on high standards in appearance, hospitality, and guest satisfaction. Barista Cashiers are expected to have basic coffee, food, ingredient, and cash handling knowledge.
•Ensure excellent guest service at all times.
•Greet and engage guests, assist guests with food and beverage selections, maintain an excellent dining experience, deliver items to table if needed, fulfill guest needs in a quick and timely fashion.
•Operate POS system, operate cash register, and provide accounting of sales if required.
•Accept payments, issue receipts, and return appropriate change when needed.
•Receive and resolve complaints concerning food, beverage, and service reporting all concerns to immediate supervisor and appropriate staff.
•Maintain excellent communication between serving area and kitchen staff ensuring front of house food and beverage items are stocked, fresh, and kept at an appropriate temperature.
•Adhere to food and beverage practices in keeping with health and safety requirements, maintain recipes, portions, temperatures, and presentation maintaining consistency in guest experience.
•Responsible for maintaining back of house inventory including stocking, moving supplies, ensuring all areas are well-kept, and reporting low inventory as needed.
•Fill in for absent staff as needed ensuring all shifts are covered, responsible for finding coverage if needed, maintain regular and punctual attendance.
•Prepare coffee, espresso, and specialty drinks for service following recipes and practices, serves beer and wine as needed.
•Cafe set up at opening and clean up, restocking, and closing duties.
•Assist with special events as needed.
•Replenish additional cafe supplies throughout the day such as coffee, milk, tea, ice, utensils, refilling creamers, sugars, napkins and any other stock items and guest convenience items.
•Must be 21 or over.
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Must be ServSafe Food Handler Certified.
•A minimum of 1-2 years previous experience handling food and beverage service.
•Must have good interpersonal skills, including good oral and written communication, ability to communicate well with people on all levels, and able to receive and fulfill orders.
•Flexible availability including evening and weekend shifts.
•Must be able to perform physical activities related to food and beverage service which includes, walking, standing, reaching, and kneeling for long periods of time, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
