Cafe Barista/Cashier - Team Lead
This position ensures smooth and professional food and beverage service including beer and wine, with an emphasis on high standards in appearance, hospitality, and guest satisfaction with an emphasis on operations during shift hours. It includes responsibilities for the management of the shift staff, front of the house duties, managing all aspects of the dining room service and all administrative work for the daily business as it relates to finance, close-out and service. Supervises and trains employees, coordinates with kitchen staff and other personnel to update menu items and related activities.
•Greet and engage guests, assist guests with food and beverage selections, maintain an excellent dining experience, deliver items to table if needed, fulfill guest needs in a quick and timely fashion.
•Operate POS system, operate cash register, and provide accounting of sales if required.
•Accept payments, issue receipts, and return appropriate change when needed.
•Schedules personnel and supervises cafe staff to help assure proper service.
•Responsible for maintaining front of house supplies and replenishing inventory.
•Closes out financial and time keeping transactions, runs POS reports according to operational standards.
•Prepare coffee, espresso, and specialty drinks for service following recipes and practices, serves beer and wine as needed.
•Cafe set up at opening and clean up, restocking, and closing duties.
•Must be 21 or over.
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Must be ServSafe Food Handler Certified.
•A minimum of 1-2 years previous experience handling food and beverage service.
•A minimum of 1-2 years previous experience scheduling and managing staff.
•Must have good interpersonal skills, including good oral and written communication, ability to communicate well with people on all levels, and able to receive and fulfill orders.
•Ability to train and manage people.
•Flexible availability including evening and weekend shifts.
•Must be able to perform physical activities related to food and beverage service which includes, walking, standing, reaching, and kneeling for long periods of time, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
•Point of sale management experience along with experience with tips, and tips reporting.
•Experience in handling Food Service Inspections and ability to maintain State of Florida Food Service standards.
•Ability to properly use all office equipment including computers and work with Excel, Word, Outlook, and other formats as needed.
