Cafe Delivery Driver
This position ensures smooth and professional delivery service in the designated delivery area and provides support for the cafe with an emphasis on high standards in appearance, hospitality, and guest satisfaction. Delivery staff are expected to have their own transpiration, a basic knowledge of the local area, menu, and ingredient knowledge, and provides dish washing, stocking and other cafe support.
•Greet and engage guests, fulfill guest needs in a quick and timely fashion.
•Operate POS system, operate cash register, and provide accounting of sales if required.
•Adhere to food and beverage practices in keeping with health and safety requirements.
•Check all products for accuracy meeting quality standards.
•Deliver products in a safe, courteous and timely manner.
•Work back of house duties when no deliveries are scheduled especially dish washing, cleaning, stocking, and refreshing products.
•Work day, evening and weekend shifts as needed.
•Use automobile to deliver orders to residential and/or commercial properties, accepting payment and providing appropriate change keeping an accurate track of sales and sales receipts as needed.
•Promptly returning to the cafe and picking up additional orders for delivery.
•Answering questions or handling complaints and problems with respect while at the delivery site, reporting all concerns to immediate supervisor and appropriate staff.
•Re-delivering missing items, incomplete orders, or replacements for food mistakes made on orders.
•Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items.
•Assist with special events as needed.
•Must be 18 or over.
•High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
•Must be ServSafe Food Handler Certified.
•Must have access to a good running vehicle to use for making deliveries.
•Must have a valid Florida Drivers’ License,
•Requires a history of a clean driving record.
•Proof of insurance coverage in compliance with the State of Florida is required.
•A minimum of 1-2 years previous experience handling food and beverage service.
•Must have good interpersonal skills, including good oral and written communication, ability to communicate well with people on all levels, and able to receive and fulfill orders.
•Must be able to perform physical activities related to delivery service which includes, operating a motor vehicle in a proper and safe manner, able to use a map and follow directions, walking indoors and outdoors, standing, reaching, climbing stairs, kneeling for long periods of time, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
This position requires a background check. In
conjunction with the University’s policy, this position may also require a credit check.
