 Job Summary:

We invite candidates to apply for faculty positions inthe area of neuroscience/neurotechnology, with a focus on cellular and developmental neuroscience.  Successful candidates will be expected toestablish a vigorous, innovative and independent research program and participatein teaching. They will join a highly interactive, interdisciplinary group of faculty,students, and fellows, who investigate many aspects of cell and developmentalbiology.


This recruitment will be inconjunction with the new Neurotechnology Center at the University of ColoradoSchool of Medicine. This Neurotechnology Center supports research movingneuroscience forward through new technology.


Theneuroscience community at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is verydiverse. Faculty in several of the basic science departments and multipleclinical departments are actively involved in basic and disease-focusedresearch. Additionally there is a strong interdepartmental NeuroscienceGraduate Program ( graduate program currently has almost 50 graduate students working inlaboratories in basic science and clinical departments.


TheDepartment of Cell and Developmental Biology is one of six basic sciencedepartments in the School of Medicine on the Anschutz Medical Campus at theUniversity of Colorado. New facultywill join a growing enterprise with state-of-the-art equipment and facilitieson the Anschutz Medical Campus (please visit campus opened 15 years ago and continues to build new research andclinical buildings, along with a growing bioscience park.

Examples of Work Performed:

Will useand/or develop novel approaches to investigations of nervous system developmentand function.

Theneuroscience research in the department includes investigations on quantitativecell biology, glial cells, ion channels and taste and smell sensory systems.

 Salary and Benefits:

Thehiring salary is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience.  This position is not eligible for overtimecompensation.
