Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

The mission of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is to provide intellectual leadership in the mathematical sciences that is of direct benefit to the State of North Carolina and that commands national and international respect for the quality of its educational programs and for its depth of scholarship.

Position Summary

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Mathematics, with a preference for candidates specializing in Computational Topology, with a preferred start date of August 1, 2020.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have or anticipate a Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field by August 1, 2020.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate: excellence in teaching a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds; the ability to maintain a vigorous independent research program; and a strong desire to seek external research funding.
