Graphic Designer, Berkley Center/Global Engagement

We are seeking a talented Graphic Designer, whose position supports the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs ("Berkley Center"), the Office of the Vice President for Global Engagement ("OVPGE"), and global units and initiatives/projects including: the Initiative for U.S. China Dialogue on Global Issues, the India Initiative, the Latin America Leadership Program, the Global Health Initiative, the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life, the Future of the Humanities Project, and the China Forum for Civilizational Dialogue.

The Graphic Designer ("GD")'s duties include but are not limited to:
  • Creates print publication templates; lays out text and images for print publications.
  • Helps design new web templates as needed.
  • Develops social media graphics.
  • Designs posters, programs, and other collateral materials for events.
  • Performs all other graphic design work needed for print and digital platforms.

The GD works with the Communications Manager to develop publication schedules and may at times attend communications meetings with broader members of the Berkley Center and/or OVPGE teams in order to ensure that proposed designs capture the broader objectives of stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of relevant professional experience or a combination of academic credit and equivalent years of experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Demonstrated experience working with web team on digital designs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a complex, multi-faceted environment
  • Proven skills in time management, organization, and communication
  • Self- starter disposition with the ability to work independently on projects
  • High degree of organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage many tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines efficiently
  • Detail-oriented; proactive and team-spirited disposition, with the ability to consult and make decisions
  • Collaborative work style and ability to receive feedback with a willingness to respond to an evolving set of priorities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with organizational rebranding efforts.
  • Experience in higher education.

This is a part-time, 6 month term position.
