Professor (Open Rank) - Department of Slavic Languages

Requirements

The Department of Slavic Languages at Georgetown University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Cultural Studies to begin in August 2020. The appointment is open rank.

A PhD or equivalent degree is required at the time of hire. Applicants must show demonstrated excellence in research as well as teaching, and the successful candidate must provide evidence of an active and productive research agenda. Applicants are expected to have native or near-native fluency in both English and Russian; fluency in another Slavic language is welcomed. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a strong commitment to collaborating with colleagues and to innovative teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach literature/ culture and language courses. An interest in collaborating with academic units across Georgetown is encouraged.
